Several bad coils in a row usually point to the setup, not terrible luck. The fastest causes to check are high power, repeated puffs, heavily sweetened liquid, poor priming, and a liquid that wicks too slowly for the device.
Compare the actual failure
A coil can fail in two different ways. Dry cotton scorches and creates a sharp burnt taste. Residue buildup happens more gradually and makes flavor darker, duller, or cooked. Knowing which one you have narrows the cause.
If the first few puffs taste burnt, review priming. If the coil performs well and then becomes muddy after a short period, focus on sweetener and heat.
Move away from the top of the range
The printed wattage range shows where a coil is designed to operate, but puff length and airflow still matter. A long pull at the top of the range asks more from the wick than a short pull at the same setting.
Start at the bottom and move upward slowly. If flavor improves and coil life increases at lower power, you found the issue.
Stop chain vaping through warning signs
Cotton needs time to draw in more liquid after each puff. A dry or unusually hot puff is a warning to pause. Continuing immediately can burn the wick.
Opening the airflow may help cool an adjustable tank, but do not use airflow as an excuse to exceed the coil's limit.
Test a less sweet liquid
Sweet dessert and candy profiles can leave substantial residue. Try a simpler, less sweet liquid for the entire life of one new coil. A clean comparison is more useful than switching flavors halfway through.
Check viscosity and liquid level
Small pod openings may struggle with very thick high-VG blends, while some large low-resistance coils can flood with very thin liquid. Use the manufacturer's suggested ratio. Keep the wick openings covered and avoid leaving the device in a hot car, where liquid becomes thinner.
Rule out compatibility problems
Confirm the exact coil, pod, and device generation. A coil that physically fits is not automatically supported. Counterfeit or damaged coils are another reason to compare packaging and buy from a traceable seller.
Begin the next coil with the VAPZ priming method and track the liquid and wattage you used. One controlled change at a time will reveal more than another random replacement.
